TYPHOON PEPENG:RELIEF OPERATION
Baguio City
Last October, 2009, areas of Baguio City and La Trinidad was badly hit by typhoon Pepeng. Hundreds of people died and several thousands lost their homes.
VTA Foundation thru it’s own efforts, implemented relief operations to the typhoon victims and donated food for the volunteer rescuers at the landslide areas. Further, the officers of VTA Foundation launched a fund campaign to further support the Foundation’s relief efforts.
The cash collections from this fund campaign amounted to Thirty Eight Thousand Five Hundred Pesos Only(P 38,500.00/xx). These amount was used to produce food packages containing rice, canned goods, noodles, pandesal, water, etc. for the typhoon victims and sandwich and juice for the rescuers. Likewise, the Foundation received donations in kind particularly in form of used clothes and canned goods. The Foundation was able to reach out to areas such as the following:
Crescencia Village, Bokawkan, Baguio City
Lamtang, La Trinidad, Buenget
St. Vincent Convent, Naguilan Rd., Baguio City
Puguis, La Trinidad,Benguet
Various areas in La Trinidad w/c was airlifted c/o of Gov. Fongwan
City Camp, Baguio City
Fatima Convent, Tuding, Itogon, Benguet
Children at DSWD c/o Heaven’s Touch
In view of the above, VTA Foundation, in behalf of the typhoon victims who
expressed their deepest gratitude would like to acknowledge and sincerely THANK the following for their support and generosity:
